Indo Hair has been receiving praises all over the blog sphere from satisfied customers and stylists who have made this Inglewood-based store their go-to place for the best human hair outside of Los Angeles. Recently, Indo was featured on lifestyle blog Hello Beautiful. The article by Myeisha Essex focuses in on the ever-booming human hair industry, and how difficult it has become to trust who you buy your hair from. There’s a whole sea of shysters out there willing to tell you anything about the hair their selling to make money. It’s crazy the things some people do, and no one wants to spend their hard earned money on pricey hair that turns out to be everything but what they were told.
Vince Selva, one of the owners of Indo Hair, has spent almost two decades working in the human hair trade, starting out as an importer before deciding to sell the hair himself with his wife and business partner Lucky. Indo has earned a reputation of being upfront and honest with all their customers, making sure every person that walks through their shop knows they are buying 100 percent pure human hair from India, and nothing else.
Here is an excerpt from the April feature about the different tricks some sellers try to pull on unsuspecting customers:
“So how do you know if your luscious extensions are the real deal? Selva said initially it is very difficult to tell the difference between Chinese and Indian hair because manufacturers “put silicone and other things to make it very smooth.”
“From the wash you can tell…manufacturers have different tricks up their sleeve. They put a coating over the hair so the hair doesn’t tangle in the first wash. As soon as you heat it that coating goes away and then it starts tangling,” he explained.”
